Once again this year, ESTA is proud to invite high school students to apply for a scholarship to be used towards their post-secondary studies. Students must be in their final year of a school in the Eastern Shores School Board’s territory and have the intention of continuing their studies. This year, students enrolled in adult education who intend on enrolling in post-secondary studies may also apply.

More information about the program can be found online here. The deadline for application is February 28, 2014.

On behalf of the teachers who make up the Eastern Shores Teachers Association, I would like to wish all applicants good luck in their current and future studies.

The updated ESTA Constitution is now available online under the “Legal” tab or directly here. The following two changes were made as a result of a referendum held earlier this month in all ESSB schools and centres:

  • A reduction from 7 to 6 Executive members  (eliminating one member-at-large)
  • A quorum of four members for the Executive  (rather than five)

All teachers in ESSB’s youth sector are asked to review the updated seniority list dated October 22, 2013. Any errors should be brought to the attention of ESSB and ESTA within forty (40) working days. The updated list can be found on the ESTA website here: http://www.esteachers.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/2013-10-22-Seniority-Teachers-June-30-2013-v3.pdf
